Giving up on anchovies, where to buy a good bra and bridging the vegetarian / meat eater divide

Welcome to the second bonus episode of Solicited Advice, CHEF’S KISS. It’s a quick 20 minutes of questions from your perfect, lovely voicemails and Google Form submissions that I simply love to listen to and read then answer from….me. Just me. While regular episodes of Solicited Advice tend to skew live/laugh/love drama, these skew cooking/food/eating practical. Me, in my element (alone), talking into a microphone (alone). It’s giving “teenager from the 90’s sitting in bedroom who aspires to be on the radio.”

Despite either being “in” a mood or not being in “the” mood (let’s discuss the difference), in this episode I talk to myself (and you) about:

  • The best recipes to make for a friend who’s not feeling well/just had a baby/recovering from something/otherwise needing food that they can’t make for themselves.
  • The actual difference between chopped/sliced/crushed/microplaned/minced garlic, and if you should care (you should, sometimes).
  • The ideal items to bring to a rental house when you know you’re going to be cooking.
  • How we make our hot chocolate at First Bloom (woefully out of season, but still, the people needed to know).
  • My favorite kitchen supply store in New York.
  • Where I….buy my bras? Okay!
  • “and more”!

Links to all recipes and items mentioned in this episode below for your reference pleasure.
